The headboard fabrics in the Papyrus Suite beautifully embody the waters of the Okavango Delta.
Design Highlights
- Imbizo Dining Table by Chuma Maweni, with hand-thrown ceramic legs and a carved kiaat wood top, symbolising “gathering” in Xhosa.
- Kassena Server by Dokter and Misses, in walnut and baby blue, featuring patterns inspired by West African adobe structures and African literature.
- Ardmore Ceramic Lamps, each depicting Moremi wildlife in vivid, hand-painted detail, made exclusively for Xigera.
- Ebonised Marula Side Table by Adam Birch, carved on-site from naturally fallen timber with support from local artisans.
- Melia Weave Karakul Rug by Coral & Hive, handwoven from Karoo-raised wool by a South African women-led collective.
- African Jacquard Bedspread, custom-designed to match the suite’s colour palette.
- “Further in Further Out” by Chris Soal, created from recycled bottle tops collected in Johannesburg.
- “Loves Me Loves Me Not.II” Coffee Table by John Vogel, crafted from walnut and kiaat with eight interlocking parts.
- Heartwood Bowl, a one-of-a-kind leadwood piece hand-carved in Port Alfred.
- Bronze Bowls by Charles Haupt, cast in patinated bronze and gilded with gold leaf, inspired by organic forms.
- Chuma Maweni Tableware, an exclusive hand-thrown ceramic collection for Xigera.
- Walnut & Bronze Bed by Duchenne cabinetry, with sculpted bronze finials and custom European fabrics curated by Toni Tollman.
- Timber Wardrobe by Otto du Plessis, with etched brass doors featuring Moremi Delta flora by artist Trevor Potter.
