The beauty of the sausage tree’s blooms is conceptualised by the suite’s ruby-red textiles and aesthetic.
Design Highlights
- Sefefo Dining Table by Peter Mabeo, crafted from Panga Panga wood with rhythmic, colourful grooves.
- Kassena Server by Dokter and Misses, wrapped in geometric motifs inspired by West African adobe architecture.
- Ardmore Ceramic Lamps, each depicting a Moremi creature, with vibrant patterns exclusive to Xigera.
- Atang Tshikare Stools, etched with symbolic Tswana designs—Ngwana (child), Ngwedi (moon), Ngaka (shaman).
- Piano Stripe Karakul Rug by Coral & Hive, handwoven from Karoo-raised Karakul wool by South African artisans.
- “Loves Me Loves Me Not.II” Table by John Vogel, a sculptural nesting piece in walnut and kiaat.
- African Jacquard Bedspread, custom-woven to echo the suite’s tones and textures.
- Wardrobe by Otto du Plessis, with brass doors etched with botanical scenes from the Delta.
- Chuma Maweni Tableware, a full hand-thrown ceramic collection made exclusively for the lodge.
- “Further in Further Out” by Chris Soal, created using recycled bottle tops from Johannesburg.
- Heartwood Bowl, a unique hand-carved piece from Limpopo leadwood.
- Bronze Bowls by Charles Haupt, cast and gilded to reflect organic growth patterns.
- Southern Guild Beds, custom-upholstered twin beds curated and selected for Xigera.
- Side Table by Adam Birch, hand-carved on site from fallen eucalyptus, in collaboration with local craftsmen.
- Igubu Bath Pedestal by Chuma Maweni, shaped like a Nguni drum and glazed to match the suite.
